Jasleen Kaur Monga
A young, soulful singer takes us on a special journey through the wee hours of the morning, to early dawn and then on to sunrise. Serene, yet passionate, Jasleen Kaur Monga brings us shabad (a sacred hymn, song, verse, or phrase), reet (shabad set to light tunes), jaap (incantation in low voice) and folk songs, introducing us to the words of Nanak Dev ji and the Granth Sahib (holy book of the Sikh communities).
Through her nirguni bhajans and with the popularity of her songs in the last decade, Jasleen’s soothing vocals have won thousands of followers in India and overseas.
From the age of 13, she has been learning Indian classical music from Pt. Rajinder Singh ji, of the Patiala Gharana.
